How We Work 💻 (Barcelona or Madrid Office)

At Factorial, we believe the best products are built when people come together, in person to collaborate, challenge ideas, and move fast. That’s why our Engineering Teams follows an office-first, flexible approach.

We work on-site several days a week, using that time to connect, align, and innovate as a team. However, we also understand the importance of focus and flexibility, so we support remote work when it makes sense - whether for deep work, personal needs, or just a change of scenery.

This balance helps us stay agile, creative, and closely connected, while giving everyone the space to do their best work.

At Factorial we don't evaluate you by the years of experience you have, we evaluate your knowledge and skills. How? We have a Career Path with a rubric framework where we define what is expected for each experience level and skill. This framework allows you to know at which level you're right now and what you need to keep growing. As we love transparency, our Career Path includes the salaries for each level and we share it during the first interview to make sure we're aligned.

For this position, the annual gross salary is 86,250 and 108,000€. This includes a base salary of between 75,000€ and 90,000€ a variable pay of up to 18,000€ annually (paid quarterly), depending on the company's goals and quality metrics.

Your daily life with us 🏋️

You will be a product-centric engineer (not a ticket-handling machine), taking ownership of mid and large-size initiatives, in parallel to routine maintenance or incident resolution work.

You will review code, and get feedback on your own code.

You will learn from the entire team, both on technical topics (performance, architecture…) and core skills, in an environment driven by engineering quality.

You will share your knowledge, through the RFCs you write, pairing sessions, our mentoring program or the occasional appearance in the monthly Tech All Hands.

  2. A second conversation with the team’s Engineering Manager. This is about making sure we can work together. Here you will have a conversation about the team, their needs, your profile and how can you complement it. Expect to have a mix of a human and technical conversation.

  3. A Tech Interview with two Factorial engineers: we might ask tricky tech questions, go through an incident handling simulation or comment some code (provided by you or ourselves). It's not a exam, but we want to ensure you have a deep level of understanding of the stack.

  5. And that’s it! Feel free to request any other conversation you want, with team members or to address specific concerns at any time during the process.

The whole process is remote, using videoconferencing tools!
