Hi! π
At Factorial we're on the lookout for a Data Analyst to raise the bar on how we turn data into decisions across the business π.
At Factorial, data sits at the heart of every decision we make β and we're looking for a Data Analyst to make it count where it matters most: our people.
This is a hybrid role that combines two profiles β the responsibilities of an Analytics Engineer and those of a Data Analyst. As an Analytics Engineer, you model and structure data in the gold layer with DBT, turning raw tables into reliable, documented models a whole business area can trust. As a Data Analyst, you build advanced analysis on top of them, own the metrics they expose, and deliver the reporting the business runs on β carrying out dashboards and ad-hoc deep-dives that turn open questions into decisions, hand in hand with Business.
You'll focus primarily on our People area β our biggest opportunity β bringing a data-driven approach to how we understand, hire, and grow our teams, and shaping high-stakes decisions across talent acquisition, headcount planning, engagement, and performance. You'll also partner with Product, helping define how we iterate the product and turning data into real impact on pricing, packaging, and usage.
Factorial is a fast-paced scale-up in constant evolution β some areas are still building their data foundations while others are already driven by the power of data . You won't inherit a finished playbook; you'll write it, raising the analytical bar as the company grows. If you're driven by curiosity, energized by ambiguity, and want ownership of both the data model and the decisions it drives, this one's for you
Own the data models: Design, build, and maintain the gold-layer models (DBT) that become the single source of truth for your business area β with the tests and documentation that keep them trusted and reused across teams.
Own metrics and governance: Define and document your area's KPIs, resolve conflicting definitions across teams, and maintain a single source of truth others are expected to use.
Treat dashboards as a product: Build reporting in Power BI with clear ownership, and keep iterating on it based on how it's actually used.
Go beyond dashboards: Run the advanced analysis that answers the "why" β cohort and retention analyses, impact modeling, and scenario / forecasting β and turn findings into concrete product, pricing, or lifecycle recommendations.
Enable decision-making: Partner with Business and Product teams to turn ambiguous questions into the right analysis, and run the work that determines whether a decision actually moved the needle.
Foster businessβdata collaboration: Embed with your stakeholders, build a shared language around metrics, and strengthen how the business and the Data team work together β so data becomes a habit, not an afterthought.
Collaborate cross-functionally: Work closely with Data Science, Data Engineering, and Analytics Engineers to keep data integrity high, prepare the layer models consume, and translate model outputs into metrics the business understands.
Master data storytelling: Turn analysis into clear narratives that align stakeholders and inspire action β so the work actually changes what people do.
You're likely a great fit if you:
Have 3+ years in Analytics Engineering, BI, or Data Analyst roles β ideally in a fast-paced, scaling tech environment.
Write fluent, independent SQL β you can model and debug complex queries on your own, without waiting on review.
Are comfortable with Python for analysis and lightweight data workflows.
Know your way around DBT and a layered / medallion modeling approach (bronze / silver / gold).
Have shipped a BI tool in production, Power BI ideally (or an equivalent like Looker / Tableau).
Have solid advanced-analytics fundamentals: cohort and retention analysis, segmentation, funnel and driver analysis, and experimentation (A/B) backed by a solid statistics background.
Use version control (Git / GitHub) as part of your normal workflow.
Are business-minded and communicate with impact β you understand what stakeholders really need (not just what they ask for), reframe the question, and translate complex data into clear, actionable insight that drives decisions.
Are autonomous, proactive, and detail-oriented β you see ambiguity as an opportunity, not a blocker.
Treat the metrics and models you build as products, not one-off deliverables.
Have English working proficiency.
Understand subscription or product-based (SaaS) economics and can connect data work to revenue, growth, and retention outcomes.
Have owned a metrics framework that became the reference.
Have partnered closely with Data Science to bring models into production and translate their output into business decisions.
Have helped build or scale an analytics function β tooling, modeling and documentation standards, processes, and KPI frameworks β leaving it more mature than you found it.
Have delivered visible impact in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment, bringing structure to ambiguity and moving decisions forward.
Have a quantitative background (degree or equivalent practical depth) you apply to real business problems.
