Hi! πŸ‘‹

Factorial is looking for an exceptional Chief of Staff to the CEO to work directly with Bernat Farrero on some of the company's most strategic priorities. This is not a traditional support roleβ€”it's a high-trust, high-impact position for someone who can operate at the intersection of product strategy, talent acquisition, and business development. If you thrive on ambiguity, move fast on complex problems, and want to help shape the future of one of Europe's fastest-growing business software companies, this could be your next challenge.

The Role ✨

You'll be the CEO's strategic partner on four critical areas:

  1. Product strategy & execution – Shape Factorial's long-term vision by working with our product, design, and engineering leaders. Research emerging opportunities in HR, payroll, AI, and SaaS. Translate bold ideas into clear priorities and measurable outcomes.

  2. Talent identification & closing – Build relationships with exceptional talent before there's a hiring need. Travel to global events and founders' networks. Convince high-caliber leaders and engineers to join Factorial. Think of yourself as a natural networker who builds long-term relationships that turn into opportunities.

  3. Strategic relationships, M&A & investments – Run a global operation to identify partnerships, acquisition targets, and investment opportunities. Map relevant companies, build trusted relationships with founders and executives, and structure win-win deals that accelerate our mission.

  4. CEO leverage & execution – Remove friction from critical projects. Take ownership of sensitive, cross-functional initiatives. Coordinate complex moving pieces. Prepare strategic materials. Represent the CEO when needed. Keep important things from falling through the cracks.

What You'll Be Doing

As Chief of Staff, you will:

  • Drive long-term product thinking – Help the CEO and leadership team identify which product bets create the most value over the next 5-10 years. Prepare strategic documents, challenge assumptions, and ensure execution stays on track.

  • Build a talent pipeline – Identify and engage exceptional business leaders, engineers, and product builders. Travel to relevant global conferences and events. Maintain relationships before positions open. Close key talent with persistence and conviction.

  • Create a deal engine – Systematically discover and execute strategic opportunities: partnerships, integrations, M&A, and investments. Understand each opportunity's strategic thesis, assess feasibility, prepare business cases, and coordinate execution across internal teams.

  • Enable CEO success – Take charge of sensitive projects where accountability is distributed. Write compelling memos, presentations, and communication. Follow up relentlessly. Coordinate across functions. Be pushy when needed, while maintaining trust.

  • Own strategic execution – Move important initiatives forward without constant supervision. Track open loops. Prepare internal materials. Represent the company with humility and care.

What We're Looking For

You're likely a great fit if you:

  • Have deep strategic thinking and execution experience – You've worked in high-stakes environments where you combined strategy with operational rigor. Whether that's investment banking, corporate development, strategy consulting, founder/operator experience, or roles in high-growth tech companies, you know how to move from idea to outcome.

  • Are a world-class networker – You naturally enjoy meeting people, building genuine relationships, and staying connected over time. You understand incentives and how to create alignment. You thrive on turning conversations into opportunities for your company.

  • Possess extreme judgment and honesty – You can disagree directly with leadership. You're brave enough to share uncomfortable truths and what others may avoid saying. You earn trust through radical honesty, not political maneuvering.

  • Are obsessed with execution – You're organized, disciplined, and can coordinate many moving pieces at once. You track everything that's open, push for closure, and have the persistence to ensure important things get done on time. You're reliable, period.

  • Can write and communicate exceptionally – You craft clear, compelling narratives. Your emails, memos, and presentations could teach others. You persuade without formal authority. You communicate with both the CEO and founders across the globe.

  • Value confidentiality and discretion – You'll have access to sensitive strategic information, acquisition opportunities, people decisions, and investor conversations. Nothing is shared without explicit CEO approval. Discretion is non-negotiable.

  • Are a fast learner – You can quickly grasp new industries, business models, financial concepts, and organizational dynamics. You're ambitious about understanding hypergrowth tech companies.

  • Speak fluent English and Spanish – Required for the role. Other European languages (French, Italian, German) are highly valued.

  • Are deeply ambitious about long-term partnership – You see this as the start of a multi-year relationship, not a stepping stone. Over time, this role can evolve into broader responsibilities: leading strategic functions, owning business areas, stepping into other key leadership roles.

Bonus Points if You:

  • Have experience in business software, HR tech, or adjacent categories.

  • Have worked on partnerships, integrations, M&A, or fundraising at a meaningful scale.

  • Have founder or operator experience (you understand what it takes).

  • Have navigated high-growth environments where things moved fast and priorities shifted constantly.

  • Have strong technical intuition – you can discuss product architecture, integrations, and system design with engineers.

What Success Looks Like

A successful Chief of Staff will:

  • Significantly increase the CEO's leverage and capacity

  • Help Factorial make better long-term strategic and product decisions

  • Build a strong pipeline of exceptional business leaders, engineers, and product builders

  • Close key talent for critical roles

  • Create a systematic engine for discovering partnerships, M&A, and investment opportunities

  • Support negotiations and dealmaking that result in win-win agreements

  • Move important projects forward with minimal supervision

  • Earn deep trust across the organization

  • Operate with absolute confidentiality

  • Become a long-term strategic partner to the CEO
